Pabelan, July 17, 2025 — In an effort to support the digital transformation of non-formal education, the Information System for Sustainable Development (ISSaD) Research Group from the Informatics and Computer Engineering Education Study Program (PTIK), Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), organized a training on the management of an open-source-based Learning Management System (LMS) for managers of Community Learning Centers (Pusat Kegiatan Belajar Masyarakat or PKBM) in Klaten Regency.
The training was held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at the PTIK Computer Laboratory, Campus 5 FKIP UNS, following a series of preparatory sessions and technical discussions previously conducted at the partner PKBM sites.
This initiative was driven by the partner’s need to manage digital classrooms that are user-friendly, feature-rich, independent, and free of charge. To meet this need, the ISSaD team developed a solution using Moodle LMS, an open-source platform customized to suit the needs and characteristics of the PKBM.
During the training, participants received both technical and practical guidance on operating the system, including user account management, material uploading, learning activity configuration, and student learning assessment. The system was also preloaded with initial content aligned with the curriculum and local PKBM needs.
This training served not only as a form of community service but also as part of PTIK FKIP UNS’s academic contribution to promoting innovation and sustainability in technology-based education, particularly in the context of non-formal education at the regional level.
